![]() I will see if I can contact the CPU-Z folks. It can be useful to have just in case when something goes wrong with the cooling so you will be alerted before any damage is done. ![]() I have a stable 4.5 GHz but temps are a little high so I run at 4.4GHz. CPU temp is a simple program the displays your CPUs temperature in the corner of the screen. I use Prime-95 as a stability tester and Core temp to monitor CPU temps. Extract the file you just downloaded and run the RealTemp executable file. To download RealTemp, Download the RealTemp zip file. It displays the minimum and maximum temperature reached on all cores, current temperature, and Distance to TJ max. The only reason I run CPU-Z is for showing folks my o/c (I already know my CPU thanks). RealTemp is another lightweight application that monitors your CPU. I EXPECT this to be ironed out with the CPU-Z folks sooner rather than later and in the meantime, I can live with these programs not working. I never had any issues with CPU-Z with Win8 DP so problems are fairly recent. I am fairly confident that this is purely a Win8 CP/ CPU-Z issue possibly mixed with an ASUS mobo. I brought everything back to stock but that did NOT fix CPU-Z ( so don't bother). I also have my Sandy Bridge o/c to 4.4GHz and the memory to 1600 (its stated speed). All are reading the hardware and I am pretty sure that there are other issues with the SATA ports that causes intermittent lock ups when having heavy disk usage. What makes Core Temp unique is the way it works. One other program that will lock up the machine is AIDA64 (the old Everest program). Core Temp is a compact, no fuss, small footprint, yet powerful program to monitor processor temperature and other vital information. Anywhere above that range Your hardware is under serious stress at over 195F (90C). Temperatures between 160F (70C) to 195F (90C) may be a cause for concern. Cooler temps, in general, are better when it comes to PC hardware. The interesting thing is that we both have ASUS P8P67 (EVO in my case -heh, case get it?). What is the Ideal CPU Temp Most users should be looking for an average running temperature below 140F (60C). Under higher load, such as when playing a game, rendering a video, or other. THANK YOU Pete! I was not sure if it had something to do with just me! What's a Safe CPU Temperature When the CPU is idle, a good temperature is anything under or around 50C.
